Do You Know What is Happening to the Snow?
Will there ever be any help for the snow leopard?
What Makes the Snow Leopard
The snow leopard's appearance is very lovely. First of all the snow leopard has black fuzzy bear like ears. They also have blue, yellow blue or grey eyes with a black ring around it. furthermore they have a big pink nose with a black outline around it. They have a relatively small head too. Their head and body length is 47-59 inches. They are white with a black cheetah like print. They are also very fuzzy. They have a long tail (31-39 inches) that provides balance and agility. The snow leopard looks very lovely.
Life in the Snow
The snow leopard's habitat is very unique. For instance they live in Asia in the Eastern Himalayas. The Eastern Himalayas provides water to millions of people across Asia. The highest mountain range in the WORLD is in the Eastern Himalayas with 9/10 of the biggest mountains including Mount Everest too. There is also a lot of snow there. Climate change there could wipe out snow leopards. That is why the snow leopard's habitat is unique.
What is Happening?
The snow leopard has many problems, as a result they are endangered. If the herbivores they eat have a limited supply of food for any longer then they will drop in population, maybe causing them to be extinct! Since there has been a big climate change in the snow leopard's habitat, they may start to rapidly die out. Due to snow leopards eating livestock the farmers will most likely kill them. Those are some of the things causing the snow leopard to be endangered.
Is There Any Help?
There are some solutions to the endangerment of snow leopards, here are just three. The first solution to the endangerment of snow leopards is an organisation called the snow leopard trust organisation which believes the cats can be helped. Another solution is a work to eliminate the illegal trade of snow leopard fur, bones, and other body parts of the snow leopard. That organisation is done by WWF (World Wildlife Foundation) and TRAFFIC. The last solution is cooperation between governments, conservation agencies, and the general public to help these big cats. If one of those ways works out, we might have a chance to protect the snow leopards.
